Getting around in Haarlem
Haarlem is relatively small, the interesting sights are all on walking distance. However, renting a bike is very convenient, and – when it is not raining – very enjoyable to see more of Haarlem. Rent a bike at rent a bike with some discount if you mention us!
Getting to Amsterdam
Every 10 minutes there is a train leaving for Amsterdam. Within 15 minutes from Haarlem you will be in the center of Amsterdam. Take a nice boat tour and see all the highlights of Amsterdam. Amsterdam is somewhat bigger than Haarlem, so we recommend taking a tram or bus at times. Else you’ll be exhausted by the end of the day. Bikes are also an easy way of getting around Amsterdam. However if you are not used to cycling, the chaos of Amsterdam can be quite overwhelming.
Using public transportation
Depending on how much you will make use of trams, trains or busses in the Netherlands, you can either buy an ‘anonymous OV-chipcard’ at the ticket window at a train station, charge it and check in. Or buy an unlimited daily travel card for all means of transportation. Find out more here about public transportation in the Netherlands, or here for an unlimited travel ticket.
